Put me on this Panel!

Put me on this Panel!

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. What is it known for besides being the state capital? Wait, is that widely known?

CNN recently produced a short video testing the knowledge of average citizens. Their test? To identify states. Most of the people asked could not point to New York on the map. One gentlemen started at West Virginia and then, after being told he was wrong, proceeded to point to every state in the Northeast besides NY. At long last he was able to place his finger on the state (through process of elimination, I’m guessing).

So, I guess I can’t be too sure that the opening sentence is common knowledge.

But, Harrisburg has been in the news lately for an interesting reason. Any PA resident ever think about how cool it would be to have a vanity plate? Ever wanted to get your initials inscribed on the back of your car, causing everyone driving behind you to start tailgating just so they could figure out what the heck it said? Well, if you completed the paperwork and wrote a check, it’s likely your request went through the License Plate Panel located in Harrisburg, PA.

This top secret panel consists of 2 men and 2 women. And their job is to check for any innuendos, creatively spelled offensive words, and double meanings.

How awesome would that job be? You get paid to reject dirty words people want to plaster on their car. That could be tons of fun and I bet they have a lot of stories to tell at family picnics. Ever try to get 4 NIC 8 or A55HLE  by them? Don’t try it, they’re pros. And with clever letter / number combinations like that, you’re day is sure to be filled with lots and lots of laughs. Are they hiring?
