A while back, Rahm Emanuel called a progressive group “fu*king retarded” for supporting attack ads against conservative Democrats on health care. Sarah Palin, upon hearing his awful, indecent, insensitive use of the word, wrote on Facebook that Obama should fire him and we, the Americans, deserve an apology from Rahm. Although he’s not going to be fired over this, he did apologize.
Then, Rush Limbaugh defended the word, saying “Our political correct society is acting like some giant insult’s taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, retards.” Oh, and when Rahm held a meeting with leaders who work for the mentally challenged, Rush said it was, “a retard summit at the White House.”
Obviously, Sarah Palin had to issue a statement on this. After all, she just called for Rahm to be fired. Will Rush have to be taken off the air? Issue a mass apology to all Americans? Not according to Palin - she decided to just say we don’t agree with that kind of crude talk. That’s all. No long winded, emotional Facebook note. Just a one line press release.
But, during her interview on Fox, she was asked about the Rush/Rahm controversy. Again, she said Rahm should be fired. And how did she respond when asked about Rush’s use of the word? Specifically, after he called liberal groups retards?
“They are kooks, so I agree with Rush Limbaugh. Rush Limbaugh was using satire … . I didn’t hear Rush Limbaugh calling a group of people whom he did not agree with ‘f-ing retards,’ and we did know that Rahm Emanuel, as has been reported, did say that. There is a big difference there.”
Oh yes. A big difference. Rahm disagreeing with a political strategy and Rush disagreeing with all liberal groups (who Sarah also disagrees with)! Do you see the difference? No? Sigh, you are such a retard.
